The VU1 uses an E-Ink display coupled with a mechanical needle to create a unique way to display your system information. E-Ink displays are most often used in e-readers, as they offer exceptional contrast between any text or graphic against the background, giving an almost paper-like experience. What’s more, with its open-source software, the VU1 can be used to display anything from your CPU temperature to some text of your choice. In addition to this, the VU1 also offers two more vectors to convey information. The first of which is the needle, facilitating an appealing physicality to the VU1 thanks to its mechanical motion. Alongside this, these dials are equipped with RGB lighting, which is necessary to read the screen as E-Ink displays do not emit light.
